Greetings fellow Global Presidents,
This year 2010-2011, the RC Mega EDSA will again host the VOY-Voice of Our Youth. On its 11th National Impromptu Speaking Competition open to Filipino high school students, 14-18 years old, from our City's public and private high school students.
The competition will showcase each participating school's on the spot public speaking skills and talents of their students and to ultimately become a national finalists. In searching for school's outstanding speakers will be done in coordination with the respective Rotary Clubs district-wide and their adopted secondary schools in their area.
Jointly, you may conduct the eliminations at the Clubs-Schools Level. Submission of respective Entrants or school representatives to the District Level will be on September 1st,2010, formally certified by the adopting Club to become an official entrant to the competition.
May we also inform you classmates that we had already initiated writing and faxing "alert" letters to several private and public schools, attached herewith, is the list for your verification. In case your adopted school does not appear from the list, please initiate coordination with the school's principal.
Furthermore, the RCME Secretariat only facilitated the initial coordination and alerted the schools for ample preparation and early scouting of their potential participants awaiting your Club's coordinative joint efforts for the success of the District undertaking.
Conforming with the pre-set national deadlines, the District Level Elimination Rounds shall be held on September 11,18 and 25, the Final Round on October 3 to finally determine the (2) two District VOY Representatives at the CCP-Central Colleges of the Philippines campus at Aurora Blvd, QC. Also attached is the brochure of the VOY for more details of the mechanics.
Lastly, aside from the joint support and coordinating efforts from your clubs, we enjoin your Clubs to be a Co-Host for this "prestigious and traditional event" in the amount of (P3,000) three thousand pesos. The amount would help defray the expenses of holding the series of four Saturdays competition like the venue fees, food, trophies, certificates, token for the judges, gas for pre-mobilizations, etc. As co-host, your club names will be printed in the tarp advertisements and displays.
Fellow Global Presidents, let's make this District event a success! We will keep in touch and keep you updated. Pls don't hesitate to contact me for more info. Thanks for the support.
