Rotary Club of VisMin,QC charters its first Rotaract Club
By CP Winston Sia, RC VisMin, QC
The Rotary Club of VisMin, QC, chartered only in February 25, 2010, under its Charter President Winston Sia, has chartered its first New Generations partner - The Rotaract Club of VisMin-PUP.
The Rotaract Club of VisMin-PUP was given its charter by Rotary International on June 9, 2011, and is composed of more than 200 student leaders of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, College of Business, under the leadership of its Dean Dr. Dominador Gamboa.
Last July 22, 2011, The Charter Presentation and Installation Ceremonies of the Rotaract Club was held at the AVR Room of the PUP-CB Building in Sta. Mesa, Quezon City. In attendance from the Rotary Club of VisMin were Pres. Armin Camacho, IPP Caloy Bautista, SNG Chair Nanding Robles, Membership Chair Rey Ornillo, and CP Winston Sia, who led the program as the master of ceremonies. The VisMin-PUP Rotaractors came in full force with its officers and members led by its President Lauro Reuben Delas Llagas, supported by their faculty advisers led by Prof. Blessing Glova and Dean Gamboa himself.
The event was made complete and more meaningful by the presence of District Rotaract leaders - DRR Marby Montellano and ADRR Patrick Hermoso, together with District Rotaract Chair Louie Gomez and District Service to the New Generations Chair Benjie Tan-Alonzo.
Rotary Club of VisMin, QC made sure the event will be memorable to all the Rotaractors, as it donated to the young club their club banner and their own gong and gavel, as they also receive from their sponsoring club their Rotaract Club's Charter Certificate from Rotary International.
The Rotaract Club of VisMin-PUP was initiated on the foundation of service-mindedness as they have had a taste of community service even before they were chartered as a club, with a very successful Medical Mission in Rizal in the last quarter of 2010, which will be replicated again this August 2011.
CP Winston Sia turns over the charter certificate to Rotaract Club of VisMin-PUP led by Pres. Lauro delas Llagas, as IPP Caloy Bautista, PP Louie Gomez, PP Benjie Tan-Alonzo, DRR Marby Montellano, Dean Dominador Gamboa and Pres. Armin Camacho looks on. Also in photo are the Rotaract Club faculty advisers and officers.
