District Thrusts and Goals
for Rotary Year 2011-2012
Our priorities and goals for 2011-2012 shall be attuned to the Rotary International Strategic Plan and The Rotary Foundation's Future Vision Plan, and shall be as follows:
I. Support and strengthen clubs.
a. Implement effective practices in member recruitment and retention.
b. Increase membership by at least 20% and be among the top 3 districts in the Philippines in terms of membership. Clubs with less than 25 members to increase membership to charter strength of 25 members. Clubs with 25 members and above to increase membership by at least 15%.
c. Promote diversity through full use of the classification principle.
d. Form five new clubs through club extension.
e. Increase number of young members and those in emerging occupations.
f. Balance activities in five Avenues of Service.
g. Develop leaders to ensure the future of Rotary.
h. Implement strategic planning in both club and district levels.
i. Promote creativity and flexibility among clubs.
j. Provide support to clubs that need assistance.
k. Improve current training through integration of innovative ideas.
l. Update the District Strategic Plan periodically to ensure relevance to club needs and expectations.
m. Develop and implement a strategic planning model for Rotary clubs.
II. Focus and increase humanitarian service.
a. Help eradicate polio through support for the $200 Million Challenge, and through surveillance and collaborative relationships.
b. Promote contributions of $200,000 or more to The Rotary Foundation's Annual Programs Fund to provide more funds for service projects.
c. Promote sustainable service in
The Rotary Foundation's six areas of focus:
- Peace and conflict prevention / resolution
- Disease prevention and treatment
- Water and sanitation
- Maternal and child health
- Basic education and literacy
- Economic and community development
Youth and young adult programs:
- Interact
- Rotaract
- Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)
- Rotary Local Youth Exchange
d. Provide effective assistance to clubs in securing TRF grants.
e. Ensure effective stewardship of TRF funds.
f. Establish strategic partnerships to optimize results through increased district and club potentials.
g. Implement significant projects that meet the real needs of our communities.
h. Promote family-oriented groups.
i. Undertake environmental service projects.
III. Enhance public image and awareness.
a. Promote high ethical standards in Rotarians' workplaces and in the community.
b. Encourage Rotarians to take leadership roles in business and vocational associations.
c. Promote unity and brand awareness on Rotary.
d. Publicize successful service projects through all forms of media.
e. Promote Rotary's core values both in the organization and in the communities.
f. Foster the ideal of vocational service.
g. Motivate clubs to promote networking opportunities and their signature activities.
h. Emphasize and enhance the family of Rotary throughout Quezon City.
i. Obtain a PR grant to make a bigger impact in promoting Rotary's public image.
j. Celebrate Rotary week in February 2012.
Club Administration
Clubs must operate efficiently to provide service to the community, attract and retain members, and develop leaders for the club, district, and RI. more

Membership Development

Ensure that your club is pursuing a balanced service program by carrying out projects in each Avenue of Service: Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, and International Service. more

Public relations efforts are vital to Rotary’s continued growth and service. Creating a positive image for Rotary is the responsibility of every Rotarian, both locally and globally. more
